John O'Shea has signed a three-year contract extension that will keep him at Manchester United until 2012.
United are the Republic of Ireland international's only professional club, aside form brief loan spells at Bournemouth and Royal Antwerp, and the utility man moved a step closer to ending his career at Old Trafford.
United manager Alex Ferguson said: "John has developed in his years here and is now regarded as one of the more experienced players.
"He has proved through his personality and professionalism he is an outstanding credit to the club and I am delighted he has signed a new contract."
O'Shea has made over 200 appearances for the Premier League champions in central midfield as well as all across the defence, and has scored 13 times for the club.
Wayne Rooney is expected to make his return from injury when United play Fulham on December 3rd.
The striker - who missed England's 3-2 defeat to Croatia - has been out for three weeks with an ankle injury sustained in training.

ManU is so popular here in Thailand. People crazy about watching them play. I like the parties, but the game is sort of boring, isn't it?
Nice Blog
Hello
Nice blog you got going here. I see you haven't updated it for some time now.
I'm Zeshaan and I'm from FootyTribes. I'm launching a football community website and need some feedback, suggestions for improvements etc and generally help testing the site. Being a blogger we believe you would have more of an idea of what dedicated footy fans are after and we'd love to see what you think of the site.
It's a community site for football fans and is really useful for bloggers, as you can promote your blog and make new friends as well as find new readers. I'm sure you would find it really useful.
As I mentioned I would really appreciate it if you could help test it and offer feedback during the soft launch now. It’s completely free and you'll be one of the first to see it.
Heres the link, let me know what you think and please feel free to use the site, whether its to add content or start another blog.

The team needed good players like him. A three year contract is enough to prove them his skills in soccer. I know a lot of his fans are excited to watch him playing for Manchester United.
